Serve On the Opera House Committee
Oversight of the Opera House auditorium and its uses is under the management of the Opera House Manager who functions under the supervision of the Camden Town Manager. A seven (7) member Opera House Committee, whose members are appointed by the Camden Select Board, advise the Select Board, Town Manager, & Opera House Manager on long-range and strategic planning, annual budget recommendations, suggested facility improvements, and the suggested role of the facility in the cultural life of the community.

Committee Composition

The Committee will be composed of five regular members and two alternates, appointed by the Select Board The members shall serve for three-year, staggered terms. The members will be citizens of the Town of Camden.

Committee Organization
​
All meetings of the Committee will be open to the public, and the Committee will keep a record of its proceedings and actions. The Committee members will annually elect one of its members to serve as chairperson, one member to serve as recording secretary and such other officers as the Committee may deem appropriate.

Role and Responsibilities
​
In conformance with Town mission statement concerning the role of the facility in the cultural, economic and social life of the community, the role of the Opera House Committee is to advise the Select Board, Town Manager, and Opera House Manager in regard to Opera House Auditorium, Tucker Room and third floor areas on the following issues:

long-range and strategic planning

fundraising
-
community liasion and input
-
rental rates and policies
-
building needs and building systems maintenance and prioritization within budget as they relate to facility use by renters

where appropriate, to suggest and produce events in the Opera House.
